Canto Libre Films... waarom deze naam? Deze is geïnspireerd door het vrijheidslied “Canto libre” van de Chileense zanger Victor Jara die door het regime van Pinochet werd vermoord om zijn politieke ideeën.

Naast maatschappelijk geëngageerde documentaires, maken we voorlichtingsfilms en niet-commerciële promos, voornamelijk in opdracht van stichtingen en onderwijsinstellingen. Bijvoorbeeld voor websites of conferenties.

De combinatie van werkervaring bij onderzoeksinstituten (Trimbos Instituut, NIVEL), vrouwenorganisaties (Vrouwenopvang Blijf Groep en de Roggeveen, Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights en Latijnsamerikaanse vrouwen-organisaties), lotgenotenorganisatie voor psychische gezondheid (Stichting Lumen), en als ontwikkelingswerker in Latijns Amerika zorgt voor een specialisatie in verschillende onderwerpen: 

* huiselijk geweld, geweld tegen vrouwen, vrouwenopvang, en ingrijpende jeugdervaringen/ACEs
* empowerment, cliëntenparticipatie, ervaringsdeskundigheid
* diversiteit, cultuurverschillen
* reproductieve en seksuele gezondheid
* psychische gezondheid
* mensenrechten, vrouwenrechten, kinderrechten
* regio's: Europa, Latijns Amerika, Afrika

Zes jaar wonen, werken en studeren in het buitenland, waarvan vier jaar in Latijns Amerika (Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador) zorgen voor ervaring met cultuurverschillen en met het omgaan met onverwachte situaties.

Wil je een film laten maken over één van bovenstaande onderwerpen, twijfel dan niet om contact op te nemen.

Ook als je zelf filmmaker bent, of cameraman/vrouw, geluidsman/vrouw, editor of kunstenaar op een ander gebied, en soortgelijke thema's houden je bezig, dan zou het leuk zijn om met elkaar in contact te komen. Wie weet maken we samen nog eens een film.

Canto Libre Films... why this name? It is inspired by the freedom song “Canto libre” by the Chilean singer Victor Jara who was murdered by the regime of Pinochet for his political ideas.

Besides making socially engaged documentary films, we make educational films and non-commercial promos, in commission of mainly NGOs and educational institutions. For instance for websites and conferences.

The combination of working experience at research institutions (Trimbos Instituut, NIVEL), at women's organisations (Women's Shelter organisation Blijf Groep and de Roggeveen, Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights en Latin Americal women's organisations) at a mental health peer support organisation (Stichting Lumen), and as a development worker in Latin America results in a specialisation in different topics: 

* domestic violence, violence against women, women's shelters, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES)
* empowerment, client participation, experience expertise
* diversity, cultural differences
* reproductive and sexual health
* mental health
* human rights, women's rights, children's rights
* regions: Europe, Latin America, Africa

Six years of living, working and studying abroad, four of which in Latin America (Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador) result in experience with cultural differences and dealing with the unexpected.
